BLACK CLOUD GALLERY
Creative Direction / Brand Identity / Marketing / Design
I co-founded The Black Cloud Gallery with three partners in Chicago's Pilsen Arts District. Located within a vibrant four-block stretch of galleries, studios, and performance spaces, we were part of a walkable arts community that drew large crowds, especially during the popular First Friday art crawls in summer.

Our gallery showcased Chicago's diverse artistic talent through photography, painting, multimedia works, and sculpture. We drew inspiration from street graffiti for our branding, which perfectly captured the beauty and edge we sought to highlight in both local and regional art. In addition to our gallery space, we operated an on-site retail store.
We organized monthly themed exhibitions featuring emerging artists while developing broader community programming. Our marketing strategy combined email campaigns, digital advertising, print ads in local magazines, and an active social media presence to build our audience and support the artists we represented.
